    Taxi Operator Charged With Trafficking 16-Year-Old Girl

    Kingston, Jamaica – A 35-year-old taxi operator has been charged with trafficking a 16-year-old woman, police have confirmed.

    The accused, Andre Catnott, of Longwall, Stony Hill, reportedly met {the teenager} in November 2024 whereas she was taking a journey in his taxi. Based on the Jamaica Constabulary Power (JCF), after studying that the woman had run away from residence, Catnott allegedly supplied her employment as a mannequin for his therapeutic massage firm.

    Police allege that {the teenager} was coerced into performing sexual acts for cash with purchasers within the Company Space, with Catnott gathering the proceeds.

    In February 2025, a member of the family positioned the woman and reported the matter to the authorities, prompting an investigation. On September 17, 2025, officers from the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Department (C-TOC) performed an operation at Catnott’s residence, leading to his arrest.

    Appearing Senior Superintendent of Police Victor Barrett of C-TOC emphasised that the arrest underscores the JCF’s dedication to defending susceptible individuals. “The Jamaica Constabulary Power is working tirelessly to find and arrest people who exploit youngsters and prey on probably the most susceptible in our nation,” Barrett stated. “Public assist and data on these people are essential to our investigations; they should be dropped at justice.”

    Catnott was formally charged on Monday, September 22, 2025, and is scheduled to seem earlier than the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court docket on Friday, September 26, 2025.

    Authorities say investigations are ongoing to determine and arrest others concerned. Members of the general public with details about human trafficking or organised crime are urged to contact C-TOC at 876-967-1389, the Nationwide Intelligence Bureau at 811, Crime Cease at 311, or their nearest police station.
