    Karl Samuda formally indicates he’s not seeking re-election in NC St Andrew – Jamaica Inquirer

    Veteran Member of Parliament (MP) for North Central St Andrew, Karl Samuda, is to step down because the get together Constituency’s Chairman, this after formally indicating that he is not going to be looking for re-election within the seat.

    Jamaica Labour Celebration (JLP) chief, Prime Minister Andrew Holness, made the announcement on his Fb web page on Monday afternoon.

    Holness additionally indicated that the method of choosing “a consultant to hold on the individuals’s enterprise will restart in earnest”.

    The developments observe a gathering between the chief of the get together in North Central St Andrew and Holness.

    “Right now I had an amazing assembly with the chief of North Central St Andrew, at which the Chairman for the constituency, the Hon Karl Samuda, formally indicated that he’s not looking for re-election, and due to this fact, would not maintain the workplace of Chairman for the constituency,” Holness wrote.

    Earlier this month, State Minister within the Tourism Ministry, Delano Seiveright, and attorney-at-law Christian Tavares-Finson, formally withdrew their purposes to be chosen because the JLP’s candidate for North Central St Andrew.

    A press release from the JLP on the time mentioned: “The withdrawal(s) will enable the get together secretariat to conduct a session with the chief and employees of North Central St Andrew within the coming weeks because it restarts the method of finalising a candidate inside the guidelines of the get together.”

    Seiveright had suspended his marketing campaign days earlier than his official withdrawal after a few of his supporters turned up on the JLP’s Belmont Highway headquarters in St Andrew to talk to the get together’s Common Secretary, Dr Horace Chang, concerning the lack of readability relative to the choice means of a candidate for North Central St Andrew.

    However a day after the get together introduced the withdrawals, JLP supporters within the constituency staged a protest and demanded that Seiveright be named because the candidate.
