    Social Development Ministry takes steps to clear pension backlog – Jamaica Inquirer

    The Ministry of the Individuals, Social Improvement and Household Providers says it’s taking steps to handle a backlog within the processing of Senior Residents’ Pension purposes.

    In a press release, the ministry mentioned its Social Welfare Division has recognized delays in receiving vital info from the Nationwide Insurance coverage Board (NIB) and the Immigration Division—two key businesses concerned within the verification course of.

    At the moment, 1,438 immigration-related queries and a pair of,292 NIB queries stay excellent.

    Minister of the Individuals, Social Improvement and Household Providers Vandana Mohit has indicated that the ministry will have interaction in discussions with officers from the Ministry of Homeland Safety and the Ministry of Finance to resolve these points.

    Following these talks, the ministry plans to finalise and roll out a complete motion plan geared toward clearing the backlog and stopping future delays.

    The ministry mentioned it stays dedication to treating the nation’s aged inhabitants with dignity and guaranteeing that each one eligible seniors obtain their pension funds in a well timed and environment friendly method.
