    Salary negotiations to continue in early January – JTA President

    President of the Jamaica Instructor’s Affiliation (JTA) Mark Malabver, says the dates for the continuation of wage negotiations with the federal government are to be set within the first week of January .

    He made the disclosure throughout an interview with IRIE FM Information.

    In line with Mr. Malabver, the conferences ought to have a look at increments and wage negotiations.

    He mentioned, as at April this 12 months, the JTA is with out a contract with the federal government, and as such, is seeking to conclude negotiations. 

    Mr. Malabver mentioned regardless of the impacts of hurricane Melissa it’s critical for negotiations to proceed, noting that most of the island’s academics had been severely affected.

    He mentioned whereas the JTA is conscious of the passing of hurricane Melissa and the doable implications, it continues to keep up that academics must be paid a wage that’s parallel to their price and worth.
