    Police urges persons to desist from illegal practice of ‘gun salutes’ during new year celebrations

    The Jamaica Constabulary Drive (JCF) is urging members of the general public to desist from finishing up the unlawful follow of ‘gun salutes’ throughout new 12 months celebrations.

    The JCF says this follow, is illegal and poses critical dangers, together with harm or injury to individuals and their property and should even end in demise.

    It says individuals who interact in or facilitate this follow will probably be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the regulation wherever these incidents are noticed or reported. 

    The JCF is encouraging residents to contact the 119 police emergency quantity or the closest police station, to report any such breach of the regulation.

    As the brand new 12 months approaches, the police are reassuring the general public that the JCF will stay vigilant   and can proceed to take care of excessive visibility in communities and enterprise centres throughout the island.
