LEESBURG, FL – A Florida couple will serve prolonged jail sentences in reference to the loss of life of their 11-month-old daughter, who was discovered severely malnourished and in deplorable circumstances. On March seventeenth, the Fifth Judicial Circuit State Legal professional’s Workplace introduced that 27-year-old Margaret Lehman and 30-year-old Mark Brittian Jr. had been sentenced to 13 years and 13 1/4 years in jail, respectively, for the aggravated manslaughter of their daughter, Marcelyn Brittian.

The tragic case unfolded in September 2021 when the Leesburg Police Division responded to a name about an unresponsive toddler on the couple’s dwelling. Upon arrival, officers had been met with “deplorable circumstances with a heavy odor of rubbish and rotting meals all through the home.” They found Marcelyn Brittian in a grimy playpen, “lined in dust and dried feces.” Regardless of makes an attempt at resuscitation, the toddler was pronounced lifeless on the hospital.

Through the investigation, Lehman and Brittian Jr. reportedly claimed that Marcelyn and their 3-year-old little one had been “completely happy and wholesome.” Nonetheless, additional investigation revealed that Brittian Jr. had made calls to 2 different people quarter-hour earlier than contacting regulation enforcement. Medical experts decided that Marcelyn had seemingly not eaten for 2 to a few days and was “extraordinarily malnourished.”

The couple was arrested and charged, and their 3-year-old little one was positioned within the custody of relations.
