In line with stories, at about 5:45 a.m., officers have been conducting operations within the space searching for alleged gunmen when Campbell was accosted. He reportedly challenged the police, who responded by firing their weapons in what they described as self-defence.

Campbell was shot and later transported to the Mandeville Regional Hospital, the place he was pronounced useless.
