    Bicyclist killed when motorist hits his rear tire in Rancho Peñasquitos

    A 60-year-old man was struck and killed by a automobile whereas driving his bicycle south of state Route 56 in Rancho Peñasquitos, authorities stated Thursday.

    The collision that killed the person occurred round 5:35 p.m. Wednesday. A 51-year-old girl behind the wheel of a northbound 2019 Toyota Camry collided with the rear tire of the bicycle at 12900 Salmon River Highway, in accordance with the San Diego Police Department.

    Police stated the motive force “didn’t see” the bicyclist. He was pronounced useless on the scene.

    Driving underneath the affect was not believed to be an element within the collision, however officers with SDPD’s Visitors Division are investigating.
