    PNP Demands Action as Petersfield Residents Face Displacement

    KINGSTON, Jamaica — Two months after Hurricane Melissa, about 185 residents of Petersfield, Westmoreland, stay displaced at Petersfield Excessive Faculty. The Authorities has reportedly ordered them to vacate the shelter by the tip of December.

    Opposition Spokesman Professor Senator Floyd Morris condemned strategies to maneuver residents to tents on the varsity’s enjoying discipline as “inhumane” and known as the Authorities’s recommendation to hunt kin or rental choices “unacceptable.”

    Morris urged fast motion, together with short-term housing, house repairs with JDF help, and long-term housing options. “A caring authorities should not abandon individuals in misery,” he stated.
