    Four Men Charged After Submachine Gun Found in Car in St Andrew

    Kingston, Jamaica — 4 males have been formally charged with firearm-related offenses after police found a submachine gun and ammunition hidden beneath the driving force’s seat of the car they have been travelling in on Monday morning.

    The accused have been recognized as Mark Wright, 46, a development employee from Rushworth Avenue; Ramone ‘Prince’ Fisher, 27, a forklift operator from Dilpath Crescent; Oshane Gayle, 32, from Camoy Street; and 25-year-old Giovanni Bonitto of Barbados Street — all residents of Kingston 11.

    In keeping with experiences from the St Andrew South Police Division, round 9:30 a.m. on April 28, regulation enforcement officers have been conducting operations within the Waterhouse space after they noticed a car with 4 males behaving suspiciously. The police signalled the driving force to cease on the intersection of Dilpath Crescent and Barbados Avenue, the place a search of the car was performed in full view of the occupants.

    Through the search, officers reportedly discovered a black submachine gun fitted with {a magazine} containing nineteen 9mm rounds hid beneath the driving force’s seat. The weapon has since been despatched for forensic evaluation.

    The lads have been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of unauthorised ammunition.

    The discover marks the second high-powered weapon recovered within the space inside three days. On Saturday, April 26, an AK-47 assault rifle was reportedly found hidden beneath zinc sheets alongside Dilpath Crescent throughout one other police operation.

    The St Andrew South Police Division continues its crackdown on unlawful firearms as a part of wider nationwide efforts to scale back gun violence and dismantle felony networks.

    Investigations are ongoing, and the lads are anticipated to look in court docket later this week.
