    48-Hour Curfew Imposed in Whitehall Avenue and Barbican Road Communities

    St. Andrew, Jamaica — A 48-hour curfew has been imposed in sections of the Whitehall Avenue and Barbican Highway communities inside the St. Andrew North Division. The curfew commenced at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 31, and can stay in impact till 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2.

    Authorities have carried out the measure as a part of ongoing efforts to take care of order and improve public security inside these areas.

    Whitehall Avenue Neighborhood Boundaries:

    • EAST: From Plum Lane and Wayne Drive, following an imaginary line to the Whitehall Seventh Day Adventist, Victoria Shut.

    • SOUTH: From Whitehall Seventh Day Adventist, Victoria Shut, to the intersection of Watson Drive and Cadet Drive.

    • WEST: From the intersection of Watson Drive and Cadet Drive to the intersection of Donmair Drive and Terracotta Shut.

    • NORTH: From the intersection of Donmair Drive and Terracotta Shut, following an imaginary line to the intersection of Plum Lane and Wayne Drive.

    Barbican Highway Neighborhood Boundaries:

    • EAST: From the intersection of Essex Avenue and Barbican Highway to Lot 13 Essex Avenue.

    • SOUTH: From Lot 13 Essex Avenue to fifteen Dulwich Drive.

    • WEST: From 15 Dulwich Drive to the intersection of Grants Pen Highway and Barbican Highway.

    • NORTH: From the intersection of Grants Pen Highway and Barbican Highway to the intersection of Essex Avenue and Barbican Highway.

    Throughout the hours of the curfew, all individuals residing inside the specified boundaries are required to stay indoors until in any other case licensed by the police personnel accountable for imposing the curfew.

    The St. Andrew North Police Division has suggested residents to conform totally with the restrictions and cooperate with regulation enforcement officers to make sure the security and safety of the group.
