HALIFAX COUNTY, Va. — Virginia State Police troopers, together with search and rescue groups, engaged in a number of water rescue operations in a single day in Halifax County.
At 11:53 p.m. Tuesday, state troopers, search and rescue groups and Halifax County deputies positioned two automobiles in flood waters alongside North Fork Church Street. One driver was in a position to exit his car and stroll to land, whereas the opposite required a search and rescue group. Neither driver sustained accidents.
At 8:20 a.m. Wednesday, rescuers responded to a car in flood waters within the 3000 block of Kingwoods Street. The 2 occupants didn’t endure accidents after first responders rescued them from the roof of the car.
Two individuals had been rescued from the roof of a truck caught in excessive water on Kingwoods Street in Halifax County.
State police, South Boston police, Halifax County rescue crews, and members of the Virginia Volunteer Fireplace Division assisted in operations.
