Kingston, Jamaica – Matthew Hyde, the 21-year-old College of the West Indies pupil who held his ex-girlfriend captive and subjected her to horrific abuse, was at this time sentenced to 13 years and 9 months’ imprisonment.
Hyde pleaded responsible in September to a number of prices, together with assault occasioning grievous bodily hurt, use of malicious communication, assault occasioning precise bodily hurt, and false imprisonment.
The incident occurred in February of this 12 months when Hyde held his ex-girlfriend captive in his dorm room at George Alleyne Corridor for 3 days. Hyde has been in custody since his arrest final February.
