A number of flights between Jamaica and the US have been cancelled or delayed as a strong winter storm batters sections of the US East Coast, creating widespread journey disruptions.

At Norman Manley Worldwide Airport (NMIA) in Kingston, numerous US-bound and incoming companies had been affected as airways adjusted schedules in response to extreme climate circumstances abroad. Related disruptions had been reported at Sangster Worldwide Airport in Montego Bay.

Airways working out of main US hubs, notably within the Northeast, have scaled again operations attributable to heavy snowfall, sturdy winds and diminished visibility. The adjustments have had a ripple impact on Caribbean routes, together with flights to and from Jamaica.

Airport officers are advising passengers to test straight with their airways for up to date flight data and rebooking choices earlier than heading to the airport.

The scenario stays fluid as climate circumstances proceed to influence air journey throughout the US.
