    US Govt Hails Ambassador Marks – Jamaica Information Service

    Jamaica’s former Ambassador to Washington DC, Senator the Hon. Audrey Marks, has been lauded by the USA (US) Authorities for her position in furthering relations between the international locations throughout her tenure.

    US Deputy Assistant Secretary for Caribbean Affairs, Haiti and Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs, Barbara Feinstein, counseled Ambassador Marks for highlighting the energy of the US/Jamaican partnership, which was evident throughout the current profitable go to of Secretary of State, Hon. Marco Rubio, to the island.

    She was addressing a farewell reception for Senator Marks hosted by the Embassy of Jamaica on the Group of American States (OAS) Corridor of the Americas in Washington DC on Friday (March 28).

    Ms. Feinstein counseled Senator Marks on eight years as Ambassador to the US and Everlasting Consultant to the OAS.

    Senator Marks stated it was an honour and a privilege to have served as her nation’s consultant to the OAS and was deeply grateful for the chance to have labored alongside such resolute and visionary people.

    Turning to the diaspora, Senator Marks, stated she was honoured to have served because the “hyperlink between our homeland and every of you”.

    “The bonds that unite us, irrespective of the place we’re on the planet is one which transcends borders,” she expressed.

    She famous that she had seen first-hand the contributions the diaspora continues to make to the island in well being, training, safety and different developmental areas.

    The farewell reception was attended by representatives of the US Authorities, members of the Diplomatic Corps and the Jamaican Diaspora.
