    United States sanctions ICC judges for ‘targeting Israel’

    Dec. 18 (UPI) — The State Division has sanctioned two extra Worldwide Felony Court docket judges for enterprise alleged politically motivated actions in opposition to Israel, regardless of Israel not being a member state.

    The ICC judges are Gocha Lordkipanidze of Georgia and Erdenebalsuren Damdin of Mongolia, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced on Thursday.

    “These people have immediately engaged in efforts by the ICC to analyze, arrest, detain, or prosecute Israeli nationals, with out Israel’s consent, together with voting with the bulk in favor of the ICC’s ruling in opposition to Israel’s enchantment on Dec. 15,” Rubio stated.

    The ICC on Monday rejected Israel’s enchantment to finish the ICC’s Gaza struggle investigation.

    “The ICC has continued to interact in politicized actions concentrating on Israel, which set a harmful precedent for all nations,” Rubio stated. “We won’t tolerate ICC abuses of energy that violate the sovereignty of america and Israel and wrongly topic U.S. and Israeli individuals to the ICC’s jurisdiction.”

    Rubio stated the U.S. and Israeli officers usually are not occasion to the Rome Statute that created the ICC, and each nations reject the ICC’s claimed jurisdiction.

    Thursday’s sanctions are along with present sanctions in opposition to different ICC judges for related causes.

    Rubio in August called the ICC a “nationwide safety menace that has been an instrument of lawfare in opposition to america and our shut ally Israel.”
