    UAE Ruler Pardons British Teen Jailed for Sex with Minor

    A 19-year-old British man, Marcus Fakana, has been launched from a UAE jail after serving six months of a one-year sentence for having intercourse with a 17-year-old lady. Fakana, who was 18 on the time of the incident, was pardoned by the ruler of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

    Fakana was sentenced in December 2024 following what was described as a “consensual relationship” with a British lady whereas he was on vacation along with his dad and mom within the UAE. The age of consent within the UAE is eighteen.

    Stories point out that the lady’s mom alerted UAE authorities after discovering textual content messages between the youngsters upon her return to the UK. Fakana has since returned to his residence in Tottenham, north London
