    Two Men Granted $1M Bail in 2,000-Pound Ganja Seizure Case

    Kingston, Jamaica – Patrick Branford and Nane Banton, charged in reference to the seizure of practically 2,000 kilos of compressed ganja, have been every granted $1 million bail by Parish Choose Maxine Ellis within the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Courtroom on Wednesday.

    The lads, dealing with fees beneath the Harmful Medication Act, have been ordered to give up journey paperwork, report often to the police, and adjust to strict cease orders. The third accused, Leon Hines, had his bail utility adjourned to September 19.

    The trio was arrested following an operation by the Firearms and Narcotics Investigation Division on Spanish City Highway, Kingston 11, on August 15. Branford and Banton have been intercepted in a Toyota Hiace bus containing a number of knitted baggage reportedly crammed with ganja. Hines was driving them to Norman Manley Worldwide Airport on the time of the arrest.

    Throughout the listening to, the prosecutor opposed bail, citing the gravity of the offences and noting that some accused had offered warning statements admitting involvement within the trafficking operation.

    Branford and Banton are anticipated to reappear in court docket on September 19. Attorneys Kemar Robinson and Pierre Rodgers represented Branford and Banton respectively, whereas Donovan Collins appeared for Hines.
