ST. ANDREW, JAMAICA — Two males are in custody after allegedly impersonating cops and being discovered with a prohibited weapon on Barbican Street, St. Andrew, on Monday, March 3.
In accordance with police studies, round 4:15 p.m., members of the Visitors Enforcement Division of the Public Security and Visitors Enforcement Department (PSTEB) seen a Toyota Axio driving erratically with a flashing blue gentle. Suspicious of the automobile, officers checked its registration by means of the Visitors Ticket Administration System and located that it was not assigned to the Commissioner of Police.
The officers signaled the automobile to cease, and upon compliance, one of many occupants exited, wearing what seemed to be a Jamaica Constabulary Power (JCF) uniform. He wore a JCF baseball cap, a black long-sleeve shirt, and a less-lethal belt outfitted with a JCF RCB baton, a handcuff pouch, and a bulge at his waist.
When questioned, the person claimed he was a police officer stationed in Spanish City however failed to supply any identification. A search revealed an imitation pistol hidden in his waistband.
Officers then searched the automobile and the second occupant earlier than taking each males into custody on cheap suspicion of impersonating the police and unlawful firearm possession.
