KINGSTON, Jamaica — King’s Counsel Tom Tavares-Finson has been re-appointed as President of the Senate, retaining the highest submit through the ceremonial opening of Parliament on Thursday.
Tavares-Finson was formally nominated by Senator Kamina Johnson Smith of the governing Jamaica Labour Social gathering (JLP), with the movement seconded by Senator Donna Scott-Mottley from the Opposition Individuals’s Nationwide Social gathering (PNP).
Following the bipartisan nod, Tavares-Finson took the oath of allegiance to renew his duties as presiding officer of the Higher Home.
