    Tennis: Bermuda Defeat Aruba In Davis Cup

    Bermuda has assured its place in Americas Group III for the upcoming Davis Cup season after their wonderful exhibiting which noticed the Bermudian crew defeat Aruba 2-1 of their second event match in Costa Rica.

    Following an preliminary victory over host nation Costa Rica, Bermuda continued competitors on the Costa Rica Nation Membership.

    Bermuda established an early lead within the tie. Daniel Phillips secured the primary level for Bermuda by defeating Aruba’s Kyle Frankel within the opening singles, 6-1, 6-3.

    Aruba subsequently evened the match. Patrick Sydow of Aruba defeated Bermuda’s Trey Mallory within the second singles, 7-6, 6-0, leveling the tie at one level every.

    The decisive doubles match featured Phillips and Mallory for Bermuda towards the Aruban duo of Frankel and Sydow. The Bermudian pair gained the three-set contest, 4-6, 7-6, 6-2.
