    Teachers Encouraged to Participate in Mentorship Programme – Jamaica Information Service

    Educators who’re registered with the Jamaica Instructing Council (JTC) and have attained not less than 4 years of instructing expertise are being inspired to take part within the Council’s annual Trainer Mentorship Programme.

    The initiative is aimed toward fostering growth and management expertise throughout the training system.

    As mandated by Cupboard by the Ministry of Training, Expertise, Youth and Info, all new lecturers in Jamaica needs to be uncovered to mentorship with educated mentors for a whole faculty 12 months.

    The Trainer Mentorship Programme, which was launched in 2021, has educated a whole bunch of educators to grow to be mentors, who’re deployed to toddler, main and secondary faculties throughout the island.

    Chief Mentoring Officer at JTC, Ingrid Peart-Wilmot, stated the mentorship programme goals to assist rising lecturers to grasp and efficiently navigate the skilled atmosphere.

    She identified that though the main target is on rising lecturers, others can entry the assist as wanted.

    “Mentorship is pivotal in fostering instructor progress, enhancing expertise, and selling collaboration throughout the training system. By way of this programme, lecturers will refine their apply and contribute to the event of their colleagues, strengthening the general high quality of training in Jamaica,” Mrs. Peart-Wilmot added.

    Senior lecturers are being inspired to register for this transformative coaching alternative.

    After completion, profitable candidates will achieve invaluable insights and techniques to reinforce their instructing experience whereas supporting the following era of educators.

    The 2025 cohort coaching session will run nearly from February 20 to April 25.
