    Teacher training workshops to start Monday to boost ‘reading revival’ – Jamaica Inquirer

    In a seeming response to considerations about college students coming into highschool with insufficient studying abilities, the Ministry of Schooling, Abilities, Youth and Data is launching early-grade studying teacher-training workshops starting on Monday, June 23.

    The workshops, scheduled to run till July 1, are geared toward making ready educators for the reintroduction of timetabled studying lessons for grades one to 3 on the major degree, beginning September of 2025.

    Senior Schooling Officer within the Curriculum Unit of the Ministry, Dr Novelette McLean-Francis, made the general disclosures at Wednesday’s post-Cupboard press briefing at Jamaica Home.

    She shared that the workshops are additionally geared at supporting and retooling academics.

    “Basically, we’re retooling them in successfully implementing the studying programme in our nationwide requirements curriculum,” McLean-Francis mentioned.
