    TAJ Urges Collection of 4,171 Unclaimed Reverse Income Tax Credit Payments by March 7 Deadline

    Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) has introduced that 4,171 Reverse Earnings Tax Credit score (RITC) funds stay uncollected at remittance businesses. In a media launch on Friday, TAJ urged eligible people to gather their funds by March 7, 2025, to forestall the funds from being returned to the Consolidated Fund, as mandated by legislation.

    The RITC program, launched in October 2024, supplies a one-time fee of JMD 20,000 to people incomes lower than JMD 3 million yearly. Thus far, roughly JMD 6.9 billion has been disbursed to 346,085 eligible recipients.

    TAJ reminds taxpayers that to gather their funds, they have to current a sound government-issued identification and the transaction quantity despatched by way of textual content or e-mail upon notification of disbursement readiness.
