    Sunil Gavaskar felicitated as MCA kicks off Wankhede Stadium’s 50th anniversary celebrations

    Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], January 12 (ANI): The Mumbai Cricket Affiliation (MCA) commenced the Fiftieth-anniversary celebratory week of the Wankhede Stadium with a grand felicitation ceremony honouring former captains of the Mumbai cricket crew, each males’s and ladies’s.

    The occasion, held on the stadium, was graced by cricketing legends, together with Sunil Gavaskar, who was additionally a member of the Indian crew that performed the inaugural Check match on the Wankhede Stadium in opposition to the West Indies in 1974.

    Gavaskar expressed his heartfelt sentiments in the course of the ceremony as quoted by the MCA press launch.

The ceremony was attended by a bunch of cricketing stalwarts, together with Sanjay Manjrekar, Wasim Jaffer, Raju Kulkarni, Chandrakant Pandit, Lalchand Rajput, Shobha Pandit, and Arundhati Ghosh who all contributed to the wealthy legacy of Mumbai cricket. The Sports activities Journalists Affiliation of Mumbai (SJAM) was additionally felicitated for his or her help and contribution to Mumbai cricket.

    As a part of the week-long celebrations, two thrilling cricket matches have been held, that includes groups represented by the Mumbai Cricket Affiliation (MCA), Sports activities Journalists Affiliation of Mumbai (SJAM), Consul Generals, and IAS Officers.
