    Commanding Officer, St. Catherine South Police Division, Senior Superintendent Christopher Phillips, engages with kids on the opening ceremony for the division’s annual Christmas initiative themed: ‘SHOP WITH A COP’ (SWAC) on Friday (December 20) on the Better Portmore Police Station. The initiative goals to foster belief, strengthen community-police relationship, and promote goodwill by permitting officers to interact with kids in a optimistic, non-enforcement setting, creating lasting recollections and constructing stronger bonds with native households.

     

    Kids board a bus to buy groceries as a part of the St. Catherine South Police Division’s annual Christmas initiative dubbed: ‘SHOP WITH A COP’ (SWAC) on Friday (December 20) on the Better Portmore Police Station. The SWAC initiative helps kids from difficult circumstances within the St. Catherine South Division, together with victims of crime, these from hotspot communities, and college students exhibiting educational or behavioural enchancment. Throughout the occasion, kids obtain reward certificates or money to buy gadgets of their alternative. They store alongside law enforcement officials who act as their chaperones.
