ST. ANN – Keano Fyffe, a 24-year-old man deported from the US to Jamaica to face legal expenses, has been acquitted of expenses associated to an alleged gun assault on a businessman. Following a trial within the St. Ann Circuit Courtroom on Wednesday,

Fyffe was discovered not responsible of wounding with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition, and utilizing a prohibited weapon to commit a felony. Trials involving gun-related crimes are closed to the general public.

The costs stemmed from an incident in Ocho Rios in January 2023, the place a businessman reported being shot by an armed particular person close to his residence. The businessman recognized Fyffe as his attacker in a press release to the police.

Fyffe was arrested in Florida by US regulation enforcement and deported to Jamaica on February 12, 2023. He was taken into custody by Jamaican police upon arrival at Sangster Worldwide Airport in St. James.

Regardless of the acquittal on this case, Fyffe stays in custody awaiting trial for homicide. He was represented by attorney-at-law Donovan Collins.
