    Spanish Town Man Killed in Struggle with Police During Arrest Operation

    A 33-year-old man from St Catherine was shot and killed on Monday after a confrontation with cops who have been trying to arrest him.

    The deceased has been recognized by authorities as O’Shane Cunningham, a labourer residing on Jones Avenue in Spanish City.

    Police mentioned the incident occurred at roughly 5:10 p.m. in Twickenham Park Property, St Catherine, the place members of the Space 5 Fugitive Apprehension Workforce have been conducting surveillance on Cunningham.

    In accordance with the official report, officers approached Cunningham and tried to look him. A bodily wrestle then ensued, throughout which Cunningham fell to the bottom.

    Whereas on the bottom, police allege Cunningham tried to attract a firearm from his waistband. Officers responded by firing pictures, placing him.

    A Taurus GR nine-millimetre pistol was reportedly recovered from Cunningham on the scene.

    He was taken to the Spanish City Hospital, the place he was later pronounced lifeless.

    The case is presently below investigation by the Impartial Fee of Investigations (INDECOM).
