    Schools To Reopen September 1 – Elections Won’t Delay Start Of New Term

    Jamaica – The Ministry of Schooling has confirmed that colleges will open as deliberate on Monday, September 1, regardless of the nation heading to the polls simply two days in a while September 3.

    In an official advisory, the ministry outlined that colleges designated as polling stations will dismiss college students early at 12:00 midday on September 2 to permit for election preparations.

    On Election Day, all colleges islandwide can be closed. Courses will resume on September 4 in a blended format — on-line and face-to-face — earlier than returning to full face-to-face classes on September 5.

    The ministry additionally confirmed the Christmas vacation interval will run from December 18, 2025, to January 4, 2026.

    In accordance with officers, the choice was reached after discussions with the Jamaica Academics’ Affiliation, the Nationwide Father or mother Instructor Affiliation of Jamaica, different schooling stakeholders, and the Electoral Workplace of Jamaica — simply someday after Prime Minister Andrew Holness introduced the final election date.
