    San Diego SWAT snipers take down armed suspect during standoff

    SAN DIEGO — San Diego police launched footage Wednesday of the deadly taking pictures of a person by police snipers in Scripps Ranch.

    Erick Kulakow, 59, was shot and killed on March 25 on Angelique Avenue after police obtained a report of a person brandishing a gun at staff within the neighborhood.

    The video launched reveals footage from a police helicopter of Kulakow standing barefoot within the driveway of a house holding a gun and sporting ear coverings.

    “He does have a 1911 (pistol) or semiauto in his hand proper now pointed up in direction of the air — not at us, simply the air proper now,” an officer’s voice may be heard saying.

    An Orkin pest management employee may be seen hiding behind his work truck throughout the road from the place Kulakow is standing.

    Based on police, the helicopter crew used its public handle system to provide Kulakow calls for to drop the gun. He didn’t comply, police officers mentioned.

    The Orkin employee may be seen scrambling into the again of his automobile by means of a small window.

    Two SWAT officers with rifles positioned themselves close by as a police response group gathered on an adjoining avenue, police mentioned.

    The Colorado Affiliation of Chiefs of Police officers wrote that the primary officer was ambushed whereas sitting in his automobile; as backup arrived, the suspect fired almost 80 rounds

    Based on police, Kulakow stood on the driveway holding the gun for about 45 minutes after he was noticed by the helicopter crew.

    Kulakow may be seen strolling to the top of his avenue towards Angelique Avenue and pointing the gun on the police response group.

    Each SWAT officers fired their weapons, however Kulakow was solely struck as soon as, police officers mentioned.

    Physique-worn digital camera footage from the SWAT officers reveals the moments they fired their weapons at Kulakow.

    Within the helicopter footage, which blurs Kulakow’s physique, the person may be seen falling to the bottom after pointing the gun towards the response group.

    Kulakow was pronounced useless on the scene.

    A loaded handgun was allegedly recovered on the scene.

    San Diego police recognized the SWAT officers who fired their weapons as Brandon Jordan, a 17-year division veteran, and Chris Lingenhol, a 10-year division veteran.

    The incident is underneath investigation by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Workplace underneath a county coverage that bars legislation enforcement businesses from investigating their very own shootings.

    The incident will even be reviewed by the District Lawyer’s Workplace.
