GREEN ISLAND, Hanover — Nationwide Safety Minister Dr Horace Chang has introduced that long-delayed increment funds to members of the Jamaica Constabulary Pressure (JCF) will start in June 2025.

Talking on the 82nd Annual Joint Central Convention of the Jamaica Police Federation on Tuesday, Dr Chang confirmed that the Ministry of Finance is ready to satisfy the funds, which had been paused throughout the federal government’s 2022/2023 compensation overview.

“These increments will probably be paid on time,” he assured, responding to earlier calls from Opposition spokesperson on nationwide safety Peter Bunting, who urged the Authorities to deal with cops equally with different public sector employees who’ve already begun receiving their funds.

Bunting criticized the three-year pause on police increments, calling it discriminatory, and emphasised that JCF members deserve the identical remedy as lecturers, correctional officers, and different civil servants.

Along with the replace on pay, Dr Chang additionally addressed pension-related points and reaffirmed the Authorities’s dedication to enhancing the JCF’s Human Useful resource Administration System. He highlighted ongoing efforts to combine the MyHR+ system to spice up effectivity and streamline retirement processes.

The 2-day convention was held on the Princess Grand Jamaica Resort in Inexperienced Island below the theme: “Embracing Transformation by way of Partnership and Unity.”
