    Police Fatally Shoot Mentally Ill Man Attacking Father in Mandeville

    Mandeville, Jamaica — Police in Mandeville shot and killed a person on Monday morning after he allegedly attacked his aged father with a machete at their residence on DeCarteret Highway.

    Deputy Superintendent Dennis Simmonds, Crime Officer for Manchester, confirmed the incident, which occurred round 8:00 a.m. The deceased has been recognized as 50-year-old Okarie Gayle.
