    POA Head Wayne Cameron Charged Over Alleged Misuse of Association Funds

    Senior Superintendent of Police Wayne Cameron, the embattled head of the Police Officers’ Affiliation (POA), has been formally charged in reference to the alleged misappropriation of the organisation’s funds.

    The costs have been laid on Thursday following a question-and-answer session on the places of work of the Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Department in Kingston. SSP Cameron, who attended the session accompanied by his attorneys, reportedly responded solely to questions confirming his identification and occupation earlier than costs have been introduced towards him.

    Investigators have charged Cameron with 5 counts of fraudulent conversion and 6 counts of larceny as a servant. The allegations relate to the reported use of POA funds for private functions, with the alleged offences spanning the interval between December 2019 and August 2025.

    As a consequence of the fees, SSP Cameron has been faraway from frontline responsibility and shall be mechanically suspended from formal police obligations. He’s scheduled to look in court docket on February 12, 2026.

    The event unfolds amid an ongoing and extremely publicised authorized dispute between Cameron and Police Commissioner Dr Kevin Blake. Earlier this week, Commissioner Blake filed an attraction towards a Supreme Courtroom determination that halted his directive to take away Cameron as chairman of the POA.

    In September 2025, the Police Commissioner declared the POA management place vacant and barred Cameron from representing the affiliation, citing disciplinary points and the failure of the physique to convene conferences. Cameron has constantly rejected that transfer, arguing that the commissioner lacks the authority underneath the POA’s structure to take away him from workplace.
