Based mostly on a video of the assembly that was streamed on YouTube, the chaos erupted after Terrelonge acknowledged that it was former JLP chief and Prime Minister, Edward Seaga, who initiated the event of Portmore.

Shouts of “boos” and claps of assist then intensified when Terrelonge stated one other good thing about Portmore changing into a parish is that parochial councillors from the sunshine metropolis can be sitting there, as a substitute of on the St Catherine Municipal Company (SCMC) in Spanish City.

Simply name the police, allow them to do their job for those who felt the state of affairs was about to get violent,” a person wrote on Fb.

“I’ve by no means seen Portmore residents in such a brawl! Disgrace on Terrelonge, disgrace on the mayor, and disgrace on the labourites and comrades,” a lady commented.
