Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness says the Caribbean area should transfer from responding to local weather shocks to making ready for them.
Dr. Holness, who can be the outgoing Chairman of the Caribbean Group (CARICOM) made the declaration yesterday.
He was talking on the fiftieth Common Assembly of Convention of Heads of Authorities of CARICOM in St. Kitts & Nevis.
Dr. Holness mentioned Hurricane Melissa has highlighted the necessity for small island creating States to take steps to battle the consequences of local weather change.
Because it pertains to the regional physique, Dr. Holness acknowledged that CARICOM is not going to all the time be one.
