A suspect was wounded in a shootout with Craig police Saturday morning after brandishing a gun close to officers, in accordance with a police department news release.
Police responded at about 8:43 a.m. to a home in east Craig following a report of a male suspect armed with a handgun.
They discovered the suspect “actively brandishing” a firearm, and he and one officer exchanged gunfire, throughout which the suspect was struck and injured.
Police supplied emergency medical care to the suspect, who was transported to a hospital.
Craig police didn’t establish the suspect or officer concerned and didn’t instantly reply to questions on fees confronted by the suspect and whether or not anybody else was wounded within the capturing.
The officer concerned has been positioned on paid depart, and the capturing is being investigated internally in addition to by the 14th Judicial District Vital Incident Response Staff, police stated.
