    Nigerian Government Secures Release of 100 Abducted Schoolchildren

    Abuja, Nigeria — The Nigerian authorities has efficiently secured the discharge of 100 schoolchildren who have been kidnapped from St. Mary’s Catholic College in Papiri, Niger State, final month, officers confirmed on Monday, December 8.

    The youngsters, aged between six and seventeen, have been taken throughout a raid on the college by armed assailants on November 21, 2025, which left dozens of scholars and academics in captivity. The assault was broadly condemned internationally as a severe violation of youngsters’s rights.

    Authorities mentioned the launched youngsters have been handed over safely to state officers and are being reunited with their households. They are going to obtain medical care, psychological help, and counseling to assist their restoration from the ordeal.

    Regardless of the discharge, about 165 youngsters and a few employees stay lacking, as safety forces proceed search operations in forests and surrounding communities.
