St Catherine, Jamaica – The Unbiased Fee of Investigations (INDECOM) has launched a probe into the deadly capturing of a person by police on the compound of the Spanish City Hospital on Friday morning.
The deceased has been recognized as 24-year-old Jamar Boothe, unemployed, of Outdated Street, Thompson Pen, Spanish City.
Reviews are that about 9:25 a.m., lawmen had escorted a prisoner to the hospital for a medical appointment. Whereas they waited, Boothe allegedly attacked the person in custody with a knife.
Police say they instructed Boothe to drop the weapon, however he reportedly ignored their instructions and continued his assault. Officers opened hearth, injuring him.
Through the melee, a 33-year-old man can also be mentioned to have sustained accidents to one among his arms.
The knife was recovered on the scene, and Boothe was rushed to the hospital’s Accident and Emergency Division, the place he succumbed whereas present process therapy.
INDECOM has since taken over investigations into the incident.
