    National record holders Nikisha Pryce and Rusheen McDonald claim 400m titles – Jamaica Inquirer

    Nationwide report holders Nikisha Pryce and Rusheen McDonald each claimed victories within the 400m finals on the final day of the Jamaica Trials on Sunday.

    Pryce efficiently defended her ladies’s 400m title with a season’s finest 49.97 seconds on the Nationwide Stadium. The Paris 2024 Olympic semi-finalist took the lead off the ultimate bend and, regardless of stress from Stacey-Ann Williams, pulled away to safe victory. Dejanea Oakley of the College of Georgia narrowly edged out Williams for second place, with each clocking 50.08 seconds.

    McDonald received his first senior males’s 400m title, recording a season’s finest 44.85 seconds—his quickest time in two years. Kennedy completed second in 44.91, whereas Jevaughn Powell positioned third in 45.08.
