    Montego Bay Mayor Calls for Community Support Ahead of Citywide Clean-Up

    ST JAMES, Jamaica — Mayor of Montego Bay, Councillor Richard Vernon, is interesting to residents and stakeholders throughout St James to help a serious clean-up train scheduled for Sunday.

    The initiative, dubbed Operation Restoration and Clear-Up Day, will goal areas stretching from Bogue within the west by means of sections of Montego Bay and lengthening to the Sangster Worldwide Airport.

    The mayor mentioned the hassle is being organised in response to the widespread injury and particles attributable to Hurricane Melissa and is urging residents to take part within the restoration course of.

    Individuals concerned about collaborating are being inspired to contact the Neighborhood Relations Division or their respective councillors, who might be coordinating comparable actions throughout all 17 divisions within the parish. Clear-up actions are scheduled to start at 7:00 a.m.

    Vernon described the initiative as a citywide effort supported by numerous stakeholders and geared toward restoring public areas. He additionally inspired residents to take accountability for retaining their instant environment clear earlier than helping in neighbouring communities.

    The mayor acknowledged help from members of the diaspora, notably the American Mates of Jamaica, who contributed US$25,000 to the Mayor’s Charity Fund to help with restoration efforts throughout town.

    He mentioned the contribution will help the parish’s restoration as efforts proceed to return Montego Bay to regular.
