The Ministry of Training (MOE) says it’s deeply saddened by the tragic dying of five-year-old Kimberly Harrison who misplaced her life in a devastating fireplace at her residence on Whitehall Avenue, St Andrew, on Wednesday afternoon.

“This coronary heart breaking incident has forged a sombre shadow over the group and the nation as we mourn the lack of such a younger and promising life,” the ministry mentioned in a press release.

Kimberly, who succumbed to smoke inhalation, was at residence along with her grandmother and different kinfolk when the three-bedroom home was engulfed in flames. The hearth, which erupted at roughly 2:53 pm, led to the speedy deployment of fireside models from Half-Manner Tree.

The ministry famous that regardless of the valiant efforts of firefighters, Kimberly was tragically discovered unresponsive within the lavatory. It mentioned happily, no different member of the family sustained accidents.

Training Minister Dr Dana Morris Dixon in dialog with Dr Kassan Troupe, everlasting sectretary within the ministry.

In expressing condolences, Everlasting Secretary within the ministry, Dr Kasan Troupe acknowledged: “We’re heartbroken by the lack of Kimberly Harrison, a vibrant and beloved youngster whose future has been tragically lower quick. On behalf of the ministry, I lengthen our deepest sympathies to Kimberly’s household, associates, and the Whitehall Avenue group throughout this time of immense grief. The ministry stands prepared to offer help to Kimberly’s household and the broader group as they navigate this painful interval.”

The ministry’s Steerage and Counselling Unit has activated its help providers, together with trauma counselling for Kimberly’s kinfolk and different affected people within the Whitehall Avenue group.

It stays dedicated to supporting the protection and well-being of all kids and can proceed to work carefully with related authorities to offer help as wanted.
