    Minister Grange Receives Jamaica-Argentina Cultural Token – Jamaica Information Service

    Minister of Tradition, Gender, Leisure and Sport, Hon. Olivia Grange, was introduced with a commemorative vinyl token titled ‘Jamaica-Argentina: A Tango-Reggae SoundClash’ throughout the Bob Marley tribute live performance at Emancipation Park in Kingston on Friday (February 6).

    The token was handed over by Ambassador of Argentina to Jamaica, His Excellency Marcelo Balbi Calvo, as a part of a cultural initiative developed by musicians from each nations to fuse reggae and tango traditions.

    Ambassador Balbi Calvo defined that the mission blends the distinctive sounds and devices of Jamaica and Argentina, together with the bandoneon, to focus on shared musical influences and strengthen bilateral cultural ties.

    He famous that the collaboration seeks to construct bridges between the 2 nations and show their rising friendship by means of music.

    In accepting the token on behalf of Jamaica’s music fraternity, Minister Grange welcomed the initiative and underscored reggae’s international attain and affect.

    “Jamaica has a music that has embraced your complete world. We’ve penetrated all corners of the world, and we welcome all nations who embrace our music… . When others take your music as an inspiration, it implies that you’re doing one thing good,” she stated.

    The Minister additionally saluted Jamaican artistes for his or her position in carrying the nation’s cultural id globally, noting that reggae stays the heartbeat and soul of the nation.

    She expressed appreciation for the gesture and anticipation of deeper cultural collaboration between Jamaica and Argentina.

    The tribute ceremony, a part of Reggae Month actions, honoured the life and legacy of the late Robert Nesta Marley and featured a strong showcase of reggae excellence.

    Performances got here from Stephen Marley, Etana, Bushman, Julian Marley, Warrior King and Jemere Morgan, and worldwide teams Out of Management Military and Sangre Maíz.

    The occasion introduced collectively music, tradition and neighborhood, in paying tribute to Marley’s enduring affect on Jamaica and the world.

    Spanish language act ‘Out of Management Military’ delivers an electrifying set, throughout the Bob Marley tribute live performance at Emancipation Park in Kingston on Friday (February 6).
