    Man Killed, Another Injured in Brazen Airport Shooting at Piarco International

    PIARCO, Trinidad and Tobago — A person was shot and killed and one other wounded in a daring gun assault simply outdoors the Arrivals exit at Piarco Worldwide Airport early Thursday morning, April 17, 2025. Authorities have since described the incident as a “well-planned and executed hit.”

    The deceased has been recognized as Akim Quashie, also called “Sours,” of Nicholas Avenue, Maraval. In line with police sources, Quashie was a distinguished determine reportedly controlling areas together with Coco Jah and different sections of Maraval.

    The second man of Again Avenue, Le Platte Village in Maraval, was injured within the gunfire and stays hospitalized.

They seemed confused and didn’t know what to do… no security for passengers,” the witness instructed reporters.

    Regulation enforcement sources say the gunmen have been possible monitoring Quashie and struck as he exited the terminal. The attackers fled the scene, and no arrests have been made as but.

    The incident has raised recent considerations about safety on the nation’s predominant worldwide airport, with many calling for an pressing evaluate of security protocols.

    Investigations are ongoing, and police are reviewing surveillance footage to determine the assailants.
