    Man Fatally Shot by Police After Reported Stone-Throwing Incident in Mandeville

    MANCHESTER, Jamaica — A confrontation between police and a person reportedly believed to be mentally unwell resulted in a deadly capturing alongside Caledonia Street in Mandeville on Thursday afternoon, authorities have confirmed.

    Investigators say the deceased has not but been formally recognized.

    In line with preliminary police studies, the incident unfolded shortly after 3:00 p.m. when the person allegedly started throwing stones at workers at a close-by furnishings and equipment enterprise. Legislation enforcement officers had been summoned to the world in response to the disturbance.

    Upon their arrival, the state of affairs escalated when the person reportedly retreated right into a home and barricaded himself. Throughout the encounter that adopted, he’s mentioned to have thrown a stone that struck a police officer within the head, inflicting the officer to fall.
