    Man Fatally Shot After Allegedly Attacking Off-Duty Constable in St Ann

    St Ann, Jamaica – A person was shot and killed in Watt City, St Ann, shortly after midnight on Wednesday following a confrontation with an off-duty police constable.

    The deceased has been recognized as Oneil Watson of Harris City within the Watt City group.

    In keeping with police reviews, a constable assigned to a station in St James travelled to the realm, positioned roughly 10 miles south of Brown’s City, to go to a pal in a bit often called Bump. The officer, who was off responsibility on the time, was reportedly armed together with his service pistol.

    Police say that round 12:30 a.m., because the constable ready to depart and sat inside his car, Watson approached, opened the driving force’s door, and tried to drag him from the automotive. Through the wrestle, the officer fell to the bottom. Investigators report that Watson accused the constable of being on his “turf” and allegedly lifted a big stone whereas threatening to kill him.

    The constable discharged two rounds, hitting Watson. He was transported to hospital, the place he was pronounced useless.

    Residents in the neighborhood have challenged the police’s account of the incident. Some allege that Watson had been concerned in a relationship with the girl the officer was visiting and declare the scene was disturbed earlier than investigators arrived.

    The Impartial Fee of Investigations (INDECOM) has been notified, and enquiries into the deadly taking pictures are ongoing.
