    Man Charged in Alleged Sexual Assault of Ex-Girlfriend’s Granddaughter

    SPANISH TOWN, ST. CATHERINE — A 40-year-old man is dealing with a number of costs following the alleged sexual assault of his ex-girlfriend’s eight-year-old granddaughter. The person was formally charged on Saturday with buggery and grievous sexual assault, based on the St. Catherine North police.

    The alleged incident occurred in December of final 12 months after the younger lady returned house from faculty. Authorities report that the kid’s grandmother had briefly left the residence to run an errand in a close-by area. It’s alleged that in this time, the accused entered the kid’s bed room and perpetrated the assault.

    The alleged crime got here to gentle when the kid confided in a college worker. This disclosure prompted the varsity to file a report with the police. Subsequently, the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Little one Abuse (CISOCA) initiated a radical investigation.

    The investigation led to the person’s arrest on Friday, March 14. He was subsequently charged with the aforementioned offenses.
    A court docket date is pending, and the accused can be introduced earlier than the court docket to face the fees. The St. Catherine North police are persevering with their investigation into the matter.
