    June Carol Lodge, professionally often called J.C. Lodge, was born on 1 December 1958 in Kensington, London, England, to a Jamaican father and British mom. She moved to Jamaica throughout her childhood, the place she developed a deep appreciation for music, influenced by artists reminiscent of The Beatles, in addition to R&B and reggae genres.
