The Labour Ministry has intervened in a dispute between the Gleaner Firm and manufacturing division staff, following experiences that the media entity is transferring forward with a redundancy train, with out having discussions with the commerce union.
The employees are represented by the Bustamamte Industrial Commerce Union (BITU).
BITU Vice President Alden Brown mentioned staff, together with the chief union delegate, got letters in regards to the redundancy, however the course of goes towards industrial relations practices.
He mentioned the Gleaner Firm has not notified the union.
Mr. Brown mentioned the union wrote to the ministry in search of its intervention, and a gathering has been set for subsequent Wednesday December 10.
