    Kristin Emery Retiring from KDKA After 37 Years in Local TV

    Meteorologist Kristin Emery is retiring from Pittsburgh CBS owned station KDKA after 13 years there and 37 years in native TV.

    She’s been posting her retirement countdown on her social media page. Within the final publish, she let everybody know she has, “10 days till retirement: Now it’s getting actual.”

    “I may have saved working as a result of I like what I do, being on air, making ready forecasts and dealing with my colleagues. We’re simply ready to not work anymore,” she told the Pittsburgh Observer-Reporter. “I’ve labored early within the morning, nights, holidays, in extreme climate and so forth. It’s time.”

    In early August, we let you know that CBS had let two anchors go and had supplied buyouts to different staff. At the moment, Emery stated her upcoming departure was not a buyout, however a retirement she’s been planning for a number of years.

    She began her climate profession at WTOV in Steubenville, Ohio, earlier than shifting on to forecast climate and report and anchor information at stations in Florida, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina and Ohio.
