    Kiwanis Club of Constant Spring Hands Over Sickbay to Abilities Foundation – Jamaica Information Service

    College students of the Skills Basis in Kingston are set to profit from a state-of-the-art sickbay, courtesy of the Kiwanis Membership of Fixed Spring (KCCS).

    The sickbay, housed in a retrofitted 20-foot container, will function a vital facility for the scholars, offering them with much-needed healthcare assist.

    It was formally opened throughout a ceremony on the faculty in Kingston on Friday (February 21).

    Talking in the course of the ceremony, Minister of Labour and Social Safety, Hon. Pearnel Charles Jr., underscored the significance of partnership for constructing a greater Jamaica.

    “If you wish to go far, work collectively. It’s a true adage and one thing which is represented right here on this partnership,” he identified.

The sickbay was the Kiwanis Membership of Fixed Spring’s flagship challenge for 2024-25.

    Mr. Charles counseled the KCCS for its work with the Skills Basis, noting that their collaboration has been ongoing for greater than twenty years.

    He urged different stakeholders in Company Jamaica to get onboard with the Kiwanis Membership and do their half to construct a greater nation.

    In the meantime, KCCS President, Sheron Gilzeane, suggested that the sickbay was the Membership’s flagship challenge for 2024-25.

    She mentioned the area will present a much-needed space for college kids who’re unwell, to relaxation and recuperate.

    “The challenge concerned retrofitting a 20-foot container, which was already positioned on the property, into a completely functioning sickroom.     The Skills Basis, which is an entity below the Ministry of Labour and Social Safety, gives specialised vocational schooling and coaching for younger adults with disabilities.
